Arabica

This coffee accounts for approximately 60% of global production, as it generally offers superior cup quality. Certain Arabica coffee varieties are auctioned on international markets for their exceptional quality, while Robusta coffee is primarily used for industrial processes. Arabica requires suitable growing conditions and more care compared to Robusta. There are various commercial varieties with different agronomic requirements, disease resistance, and cup quality, allowing cultivation to be tailored to the needs of producers and international markets. Its production generates annual revenues exceeding USD $15 billion for exporting countries and provides employment for over 20 million people worldwide.
